Business Expo

This committee is responsible for organizing and promoting Rotary’s business exposition. The Business Expo is held the third Wednesday in May.  The Expo is open to Rotary members of this club only as a way to promote vocational service  - “Do business with a Rotarian.”  Members will promote the Expo to the membership, develop theme and create table layout for event.  Committee will coordinate with Rotary office on logistics with the Bright Shawl.

   

Shadow Day

This committee is responsible for coordinating and promoting the annual Shadow Day program.  Shadow Day is an annual half-day program in which members volunteer to host one or more local high school or college students at the members' place of business.    Committee members will work with school counselors to identify students and their areas of interest.  Members will recruit club members to serve as volunteers for the day.  Members will pair Rotarians with students whose interests fit their business. 

   

Youth Mentoring

This committee is responsible for recruiting club members to be mentors to the recipients of the Diploma Plus scholarship.   Members who sign up to mentor students will be considered part of the committee.  Mentors are directed to the area school districts for background checks.  Mentors are paired with Diploma Plus students for weekly mentoring (not tutoring) sessions. 

   

Trinity Rotaract

This committee is responsible for maintaining Rotaract Clubs at Trinity University.  Rotaract Clubs are the college equivalent of Rotary Clubs.  Students meet at least monthly on campus for a Rotary-style meeting that includes a speaker.  Interact Clubs are encouraged to develop a service project and attend Rotary functions.  Committee members are expected to meet with students on campus, help arrange for speakers for meetings, help develop service projects, instill Rotary ideals and include students in Rotary activities.

This committee is responsible for maintaining Interact Clubs at local high schools.  Interact Clubs are the high school equivalent of Rotary Clubs.  Students meet at least monthly on campus for a Rotary-style meeting that includes a speaker.  Interact Clubs are encouraged to develop a service project and attend Rotary functions.  Committee members are expected to meet with students on campus, help arrange for speakers for meetings, help develop service projects, instill Rotary ideals and include students in Rotary activities.

 

There are currently three Interact Clubs sponsored by our club:

  • Burbank High School
  • Providence High School 
  • St. Mary's Hall
